CLARK FORK RIVER
Local areas, like the Ninemile Cut and Alberton's Natural Pier Bridge, still show the impacts of Ice Age floods.
The Alberton Gorge Recreation Area is just west of Alberton. Each year, thousands of visitors come through the Interstate-90 Corridor to find a recreation paradise on the Lower Clark Fork River and its tributaries. In the late fall, it's the call of the Hunt they may hear.
Alberton Montana Recreation: A Good Place to Revel in the Outdoors
ALBERTON GORGE MONTANA
Albertonians value the Clark Fork River and public access to it through state and federal lands. Local rafting companies offer an exciting route through this bedrock area rich with history of the Ice Age Floods.
Alberton's Town Park also offers respite. We have a Folf Course, BBQ stands, and a shady Gazebo, where you can actually schedule a wedding or family function. Plus, when the Railroad Museum is open, you can pretend to ride the rails in our authentic caboose.

The park is currently undergoing a major project courtesy of the PEAK Foundation.  This project includes a skatepark, tennis court, parkour, walking path with musical components and benches.
